ObjectifsSuccess in today’s competitive business environment is increasingly the function of effective management of its resources, particularly, employees. The quality of the organization’s employees, their enthusiasm, and satisfaction with their jobs, and their sense of fair treatment all impact the firm’s productivity, level of customer service, reputation, and survival. The students in HRM must be aware of comprehensive aspects of human resource management to understand the functioning of human resource management and its impact on the organization. Therefore, this advanced course on Human Resource Management is designed with the following objectives: a) learn the main HR techniques b) understand, analyze, evaluate and be able to use the HR tools and concepts. This course will not get into the technical details of personnel management such as the psychometric aspects of test validation, the mechanics of interviewing, or the intricacies of employment law. These topics are primarily relevant to those intending to become human resource professionals. Instead, this course adopts the perspective of a general manager and addresses human resource topics from a strategic perspective. The teaching will be based on case studies, theory, academic research, as well as group work and exercises. It is required for you to read the case studies and participate to the course. The slides discussed in the classroom will be made available on Moodle. External experts will be complementing the teaching and bring most updated reality in the course. Contenus
