Objectifs

The goal of the CFA Research Challenge is to gather together university students, investment industry professionals, and representatives from a publicly traded company for local, regional, and global competition. This annual educational initiative promotes best practices in equity research through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis and presentation skills.

The course provides analytical, public speaking, and presentation training and it prepares, coaches, and mentors students for the Swiss (Semi-)Finals, the EMEA subregional and EMEA regional (Semi-)Finals, and Global Finals of the CFA Research Challenge.

The course is the continuation of the course CFA General Research Challenge (5.1). It is open only to members of team(s) representing a Swiss university at the CFA Research Challenge.

Contenus

  1. (Re)Writing a Research Report:

Each team produces an initiation of coverage report on its chosen company. In this course students substantially revise and improve the report submitted during the course CFA General Research Challenge (5.1). The report is reviewed and scored by a group of judges.

  2. Presentation of Research to a High-Profile Panel of Experts:

Teams present their research to a panel of experts from top financial institutions. The team with the highest combined report and presentation score is the winner.

  3. Advancement to the CFA Institute Global Challenge:

The winners of local competitions advance to compete against teams within their geographic region, culminating in a global finale competition.
