“Business Model Workshop for the innovators, movers & shakers” in Tokyo, with ’?’?’?’? Takashi Tsutsumi, the translator of Steve Blank’s books in Japanese. The workshop was organized by ’?’? ’? Shin Yamamoto, ’?’?’?’? Tobby Munenori Tobisawa, and their colleagues; I met them in my previous visit (see previous post). The event was supported by CoachingBank (web) and the translation done by ’?’?’?’? Shinobu Sheena Urita (spirit195).

Shin Yamamoto and Yasuhiro Watanabe have launched a dynamic BMGEN community (web) in Japan. They give workshops on business models on a regular basis in Japan (web). Yasuhiro is also the founder of the Word Alliance Reading Magazines (WARM).

The workshop aims at presenting the Business Model Canvas for designing, assessing and challenging business models. Business model innovation will be illustrated with examples. In a second part, design thinking attitude will also be emphasized for exploring and prototyping business models. The new Value Proposition Canvas will be illustrated. In the third part, the synergy between the business model canvas, Eric Ries’s lean startup and Steve Blank’s customer development will be proposed for testing value propositions and business models.
