Business by design: the value proposition challenge

“Developing a new business idea is notoriously difficult. Start-up failure statistics are discouraging – some 90 per cent of all new ventures fail, about 40 per cent of all new products or services cannot find sufficient buyers. But Yves Pigneur, professor of management and information systems at HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne, is on a mission to change the statistics, shifting the odds in favor of new business ideas. Together with co-author Austrian business theorist, and consultant Alex Osterwalder, Pigneur produced the best-selling Business Model Generation.
